FARM INPUTS PRICES – WORLDWIDE
In June, the progress of the corn and soybean harvests in South America, together with favourable production prospects among the main producers, reassured market participants. As a result, prices moved lower again across the markets.
Corn
- Within the European Union, corn followed the trend seen across the Atlantic and declined in June. However, the drop was more modest (-5.3%), in a context where production is expected to decrease this campaign.
- The Chinese market followed the trends seen across the Americas. Corn prices fell by 3.5 %. China is expected to harvest record volumes this season: 307.0 Mt, according to the USDA, up 7.0 % from the five-year average.
- In June, favourable weather conditions pushed corn prices lower on the U.S. market. The decline in acreage reported by the USDA remained limited, with the U.S. crop still expected to exceed 400.0 Mt. As a result, corn prices fell by 10.3 % over the month ($168.5/t in June).
- In Brazil, harvest progress is weighing on prices, with production expected to reach 139.0 Mt. Corn traded at $207.3/t, compared with $219.3/t in May.

Soya and Soybean meal
- On the European market, soybean meal moved against the trend seen in other markets, rising by $4.2/t over the month. Prices remain supported by rapeseed, which has stayed firm on the European market in the wake of strong Canadian canola prices.
- Brazil confirmed its leading position in the soybean market, with production expected to reach a new record of 186.0 Mt. Progress in the fields is weighing on soy complex prices. In this context, soybean meal fell by $16.3/t to $394.9/t.
- The soy complex declined sharply in June in the US, falling to $320.8/t from $340.3/t in May. The weight of upcoming harvest outweighing geopolitical factors. The United States is expected to produce 121.8 Mt this season, up 3.6 % from the five-year average.
- Strong production prospects in the Americas pushed prices lower on the Chinese market with soybean meal down 5.3%. In 2026, China is expected to source soybeans once again from the United States after a 2025 marked by numerous trade tensions.

BROILER CHICKEN PRICE OVERVIEW – GLOBAL
In June, EU prices rebounded, and softened in the US, China and Brazil as production reached record levels. The EU will remove Brazil from the list of countries authorised to export animal products in Sept, citing insufficient guarantees on the use of antimicrobial growth promoters. As Brazil supplies around 25% of EU poultry imports, the ban could reshape trade flows and raise European breast meat prices. Day-old chick prices continue to rise globally.

BROILER CHICKEN PRICE OVERVIEW – EUROPE
EU chicken prices rebounded by 2% in June, driven by a strong recovery of Eastern European supply. Demand remained firm, with retail chicken sales up 3-5% on substitution away from expensive beef. The main uncertainty for H2 is the exclusion of Brazil, which supplies around 211 000 t/year of mainly breast meat. Regulation is also tightening, with revised operating requirements approved for the largest poultry units under the IED. Newcastle disease continues to spread in Spain, with 17 outbreaks now confirmed.

BROILER CHICKEN PRICE OVERVIEW – USA
US chicken prices edged down 1% in June, in a well-supplied market where breast meat and tenders remain in surplus. The USDA lowered its 2026 forecast, with the composite whole bird price now expected at 123¢/lb in Q3-Q4, and averaging 121.9¢/lb for the year. For 2027, prices are forecast at 124 cents (+1.7%), supported by high competing animal protein prices. Summer demand should remain boosted by the FIFA World Cup. The USDA also postponed implementation of the grower payment rule until end-2027.

BROILER CHICKEN PRICE OVERVIEW – BRAZIL
Brazilian chicken prices fell by 3% in June with ample supply. Q1 production reached a record 3.734 Mt, up 6.9% year-on-year. With record H1 exports to the EU up 53%, driven by the EU-Mercosur agreement. In Paraná, production costs rose 0.55% to R$4.71/kg as a 4.5% increase in day-old chick prices outweighed lower feed costs. Brazil is seeking to avert the loss of access to the EU market through a control system introduced on 1 July, but the rise of China as an exporter is becoming a structural risk for Brazilian breast meat.

BROILER CHICKEN PRICE OVERVIEW – CHINA
Chinese chicken prices fell by 2% in June, back to April levels after May’s holiday-driven increase. Q1 poultry meat production rose 9.3% year-on-year to 7.01 Mt, prompting the USDA to revise its 2026 forecast upwards to 17.3 Mt (+5%). Persistently low pig prices add downward pressure. The export outlook remais strong: Chinese exports are expected to reach 1.4 Mt in 2026, making China the third-largest exporter with a 9.5% of global trade, against 6% in 2025.
